Dr. Mangelson specializes in the diagnosing and treatment of periodontal (gum) disease and periodontal regeneration.  He is a Diplomate of the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP).

He has been in practice for over ten years and has performed over 10,000 periodontal and implant procedures.

Dr. Mangelson received a Bachelors degree from the University of Utah, a dental degree from Creighton Dental School in Omaha, Nebraska, and periodontal training from the University of Oklahoma.

He served as the 1998-1999 President of the Intermountain Society of Periodontists.  He is also a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Utah Dental Association (UDA), the American Academy of Periodontontology (AAP), and he is an associate professor at the U of U Dental Residency Program.

Dr. Mangelson was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah.  When he is not spending time with his family he enjoys bike riding, reading, gardening, and playing basketball.
