The following is our "periodontal portfolio" with before and after photos of patients Dr. Mangelson has treated for various periodontal needs. He has had surgical success with tooth preservation, tooth replacement and esthetically pleasing smiles.
This missing front tooth was replaced with a single implant by Dr. Mangelson. Focusing on the team approach, a general dentist makes the final crown restoration for a beautiful smile.
A "gummy" smile can easily be corrected with a simple periodontal procedure called crown-lengthening. Dr. Mangelson is very concerned and conscientious for the perfect esthetic result.

The dark area between the two roots indcates periodontal bone loss. If left untreated it will lead to tooth loss. Bone regeneration predicatably replaces the lost bone thus saving the tooth.
The first xray shows a vertical bone defect or bone loss. The second xray shows that bone has been restored after Dr. Mangelson performed a surgical bone regeneration procedure. The molar tooth now has significant bone support is more stable.
Getting a partial denture to fit and function with comfort on the lower arch is sometimes very challenging. In these photos Dr. Mangelson has placed implants that serve to support a denture providing a more secure and comfortable replacement for missing teeth.
